Quartz’s The Next Billion: London convened global industry leaders to explore the challenges and opportunities facing an increasingly connected world.
The context: Over the past decade, the number of internet users has grown to nearly 3 billion people, and a billion more are expected to come online by 2017. The next billion users will largely connect from the places one would least expect: mobile devices in emerging markets. The expansion of the global internet population will continue to have a profound impact on infrastructure, education, finance, commerce, and healthcare, among other industries worldwide. Mark’s talk focuses on teaching digital literacy for the open web (view Mark’s talk »).
